Detroit Performs Live at The Fillmore

Detroit Public Television Presents its 3rd Annual Celebration of Motor City Music
A one-night LIVE event and broadcast at The Fillmore Detroit
Friday, November 3 at 8 p.m.
American Idol winner Ruben Studdard will bring his star power to the 3rd annual Detroit Performs LIVE, Detroit Public Television and WRCJ’s celebration of Motor City music, at The Fillmore Detroit on Nov. 3. The evening’s music director will once again be the legendary jazz flutist, Alexander Zonjic. The Motor City Horns will join Studdard and Zonjic along with an all-star lineup of Detroit musical talent for an evening of R&B, Motown, rock, jazz and more.
An R&B, pop and gospel sensation, Studdard captured first place in the second season of American Idol in 2003. That helped catapult his first album, “Soulful,” over the 1 million mark in sales even before its release date. A single from that album, “Flying Without Wings,” climbed to Number 2 on the U.S. music charts. Studdard has been touring, recording and captivating audiences ever since.
He will bring his prodigious talents to the stage for DPTV’s annual tribute to the music of Detroit, and will be joined by some of the best Detroit musicians, including Ethan Daniel Davidson, Jill Jack, and The Miracles featuring Mark Scott.
Be part of the live audience for this memorable concert, which will be broadcast live on DPTV and live-streamed at DetroitPerforms.org
DPTV’s MiWeek anchor Christy McDonald will host the festivities.
This will be a night to remember and one not to be missed!
